Africa's hip hop sensation, Ice Prince together with fast rising rap group Camp Mulla have decided to put their BET nominations to good use by joining Coldplay in highlighting the looming humanitarian crises happening in the Sahel region of West Africa.

A staggering 18.4 million people are said to be vulnerable to the food crisis, 6 million of whom are in severe need of food aid. Oxfam, which campaigns on responding to emergencies has been on the forefront asking the world to; "Stop the African Hunger Games."
Coldplay, without a doubt the biggest rock band in the world has been active in trying to highlight the issues of the Sahel, a territory that stretches across eight countries from Chad to Senegal. They have been on tour with Oxfam across Europe doing 6 countries in 3 weeks.
Now Camp Mulla and Ice Prince have joined and they will use their power to tell the world of the Sahel and what a better way to start than with BET.
Ice Prince took to his Twitter account to pledge his support; "As a West African Artiste, I'm really glad to be supporting the @Oxfam Beyond BET: Sahel Hunger crises!! We want change!"
Already, the West has started to act. According to the Guardian, a high-level collection of European commission and member states officials, UN figures and west African leaders were scheduled to meet in Brussels last week Monday to discuss the unfolding crisis in the Sahel.
We're glad our own stars are starting to recognise how powerful their voices are and using them to highlight issues affecting their own.
More should follow suit don't you think?
